    Great all round machine
Great all round machine, solid built, solid performance, decent looking and a great price for a Sony.

I saw someone comented regarding boot up time being slow, never had anys uch problem with mine although it does come with 2 months Norton anti virus, this is what slows it down, so just get a decent anti virus program, I use use Nod32 on mine and its boots up and runs fine.

    Close but no cigar!
First the good points: This is a well made machine, clean & simple without the clutter of so many laptops.

Now the bad news: This machine is incredibly slow to boot and often hangs in the process. I think in fairness some of the issues might be down to Vista (Home Premium is best avoided!). However I've spent ages on the Vista forums resolving many Vista issues and the machine is still pretty rubbish. Sony are also hopeless, to the point that it's hardly worth registering the laptop with them. I spent an age deleting Sony software/clutter as well as the usual Norton rubbish.

I find the best thing to do with this machine is to leave it for about 10 minutes whilst booting (other than to enter a password) and not to expect it to be capable of anything until it has finally decided everything is loaded. Even then, it can be temperamental!

I bought this machine based on a brief experience with a friends Vaio, I was impressed with the quality and all seemed to work ok. Sadly my own experience of owning a Vaio is disappointing.

I've always had HP laptops in the past (apart from one VERY disappointing experience -never to be repeated- with Acer) and would suggest you look at the HP laptops rather than this one.

    Excellent
Have researched various laptops although Sony was always my favorite. Decided on buying this one recently and was really impressed, excellent build quality, easy to use and great value, can not fault it at all. Would recommend it to anyone.

    Sony Vaio NR21 Notebook
This notebook is built to a high quality and works great with Vista, I am very pleased with the performance and can highly recommend it

    Hooray for Vaio
Fantastic, quality laptop delivered top speed. Very easy to use. I would happily recomend this item and Amazon to anyone. Top notch. My first laptop and couldn't be happier.

    BRAVIA S3000 Series LCD TV

    HD Ready

    HD Ready

To appreciate just how good a high definition picture is, it helps to know how TV’s, ’s and VHS worked in the past. Until recently, there was only one type of broadcast format – Standard definition - SD. With SD, the level of detail in the picture resolution is limited. SD has a resolution of 720 X 576, which means 576 horizontal lines of 720 pixels each. Pixels are the dots which make up a digital picture. The new HD formats boost resolution far beyond SD, giving your TV a level of clarity and detail that is absolutely breathtaking.

    Integrated Digital Tuner / Freeview

    Integrated Digital Tuner / Freeview

Having an integrated Digital Freeview Tuner means that your TV has a built in receiver that will give you access to many more channels without the need to have any additional hardware, such as a Freeview box. In 2007, the government will begin switching UK broadcasting to digital, so if your TV doesn’t have an integrated digital tuner feature you wont be able to view any channel without buying the additional hardware.

    HDMI Sockets

    HDMI Sockets

The S3000 has 3 X HDMI sockets – 2 at the rear of the set and one at the side.

Your HDMI socket provides a connection point on your TV that is able to deliver a high definition picture. Quite simply, the more HDMI sockets that you have on your BRAVIA , the more components you are able to link up to for HD picture quality, for instance, a Blu-ray player, your camcorder and your gaming console. Having the socket located in the front of the TV means that you no longer have to get into awkward positions or move the unit in order to gain access to the connection point, great if you’re viewing your photos on your TV via your .

    BRAVIA Theatre Sync

    BRAVIA Theatre Sync

A one touch control over your whole Home theatre set up. Simply press the Theatre button on the TV’s remote control, the TV’s sound turns off & the picture settings configure automatically to an optimal movie watching mode. BRAVIA Theatre Sync cuts out the complexity so that you can concentrate on enjoying your movie.

    Live Colour Creation

    Live Colour Creation

Live Colour Creation is a backlight system which produces a wider colour gamut, seen particularly with the red and green areas of the spectrum. So your TV picture will have more lifelike and natural colours with no smudging or dulling of the image.

    BRAVIA Engine

    BRAVIA Engine

This picture enhancement technology ensures that the image produced on screen represents perfection.

    • It reduces colour distortion by decreasing 'cross colour', 'dot crawl' and 'moire' the sort of distortion that you get on patterns such as a checked shirt. It cleans up the haze that you often see around lettering such as titles or text so that they appear perfectly sharp on screen.

    • It enhances specific areas of low contrast within the image giving an overall crisp picture.

    • It smoothes the motion, preventing jagged edges and bleeding colours on fast moving objects, ideal for sports & action sequences.

    • It matches colours, which ensures the final image is reproduced exactly as the original source intended meaning that you see incredibly natural colours.

    Dynamic Contrast

    Dynamic Contrast

Contrast ratio is improved and all shades between the brightest white and the darkest blacks are maintained, so the picture has more depth and detail. This is achieved as the backlight brightness adjusts according to the brightness of the scene. ’s unique dynamic contrast system features ACE (advanced contrast enhancer) which ensures all of the subtle shades of grey are maintained.

    VESA Hole Spacing

    VESA Hole Spacing

VESA-Standard or Video Standards Association is a perfect template for hole spacing (screw holes) in flat screens. So providing your wall bracket is also VESA standard, hanging your TV on the wall, for example, is a simple process without the frustration of drilling the holes incorrectly and in the wrong place.

    Disappointed.
I saw the KDLS3000 instore, saw all the positive reviews and felt confident about the purchase. However, the picture isn't as good as expected.I've tried adjusting the settings, including those recommended by Which and another Amazon reviewer to no avail. The picture is reasonable when viewed from directly in front of the screen but at an angle appears "washed out".
The set isn't a disaster by any means but I wish I had bought another Panasonic;my neighbour's new set only reinforces that view.

    Amazing For The Price!!!!
The perfect tv for me. Especially in my small bedroom. Fits perfectly on the wall and i adore it. Hooked up to my pc, ps3 and sky and i have no complaints! Buy One NOW!

I Have entered the LCD Age
Item could not have come quick enough, thought I would have time to ofload the old TV, but it arrived on the 2nd day!!! Brill
Simple Simple Simple.... Plug "N" Play...thats it easy peasy lemon squeezy! Even without a HD Player the quality of the picture is nothing short of brilliant. Glad I stuck to me guns and bought the 32", its more than enough for the front room.
Dont bother read anymore reviews, especially the ones that drone on...zzzzz!! Just order one, even the price is great. You cant go wrong.

    Brilliant
I eventually chose this model over many others in this size and I have to say it is fantastic-the colours are rich and vibrant, the design is understated, classy and the build quality is great (I prefer the plain black bezel to the tacky piano black bezel other lcd's have) and sound is fine for a 32inch lcd. I have an Xbox360 hooked up and it looks brilliant-really natural colours.

In short I would recommend this lcd, no problem.

. The best you can buy, no question.
Like many others i spent months deliberating over the endless 32" LCD's available. I did online research but i also conducted several "field tests" in stores and friends homes. I am no techno-geek but i have a good pair of eyes. I have friends with various size and model , Samsung, Panasonic and Phillips LCD's so i visited them over the last 3 months, compared them all working and made an informed decision that way. Samsung bezel looks very nice but picture is not very clever at all. Panasonic & Philips are good but have nothing on the Bravia. The colours are breathtaking and the sharpness of the picture is unbeatable. I spent 30 minutes tweaking the picture over several channels, comprehensive but straightforward menu's but once you get it spot on you will not get anything close which is not in HD. If you get it right you could be easily fooled into thinking you are watching HD as i have seen several HD TV's in action, despite this i will be upgrading with Sky to HD so i can't wait for that !. As for gaming i have a Wii (with component cable) and XBOX in HD and it is spot on.
My previous 2 TV's have been and i was tempted to stray before doing the "field tests". I will be looking in future for for a 40"+ LCD or plasma and also a projector for a home cinema room. I will not look at any other brand but . You know what you are getting with . The best.
If you are looking for 32" and this is within budget (should be as priced at lower end) stop now. Buy this at this price and you will not be disappointed.

    Quality as always
I'm not a camera expert, and wanted something small and light that was reasonably priced and easy to use, and always having been a fan opted for the W80. Picture quality is excellent, the macro function is exceptionally good, and the speed at which the camera intitally starts up and is ready to take is excellent, so you rarely miss a shot even when the camera is turned off. Nothing to fault really, it may not have as many shooting functions etc as some other , but I didn't buy a camera to take crazy warped shots or anything special, so it's highly recommended from me!

All that you need in a take it every where ultra compact P&S.
Build Quality is excellent: metal body, firm tactile buttons, no creaks in the casing and battery compartment is extremely secure.

Looks: Bearing the Cyber-Shot name across the front against the brushed allumium is absolutely stunning with the dark metallic trim matching the body of the lens.

Battery life: It is quite good I haven't experienced it dying out in the middle of a day trip or occasion where lots of snaps get taken.

Images: Are as good as you can get in a Point and Shoot of this size. Extremely sharp n clear in daylight & darkness and the 4x optical zoom is great. Auto-focus and smile detection are useful for snapping the kids.

Ease of Use: Takes a bit of getting use to as I'm more used to big , this is a solid compact camera with smaller buttons (easily fits in your jeans ((who's Jean? lol)) front pocket or a lady's purse) and the zoom is a tiny toggle button on the back instead of on top. Menus are easy to get round though....

Other accessories to buy are the Lowepro Rezo 15 case, screen protectors (helps reduce glare in high sunlight), at least 2GB produo cards and micromate MSPD card reader for convenience of avoiding cables. All available cheaply on Amazon.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

    Amazing
My sister got this camera as a present from her boyfriend and has had no problem apart from the fact i scratched it a tiny weeny bit and she still can't get over it, aniwaii this camera is the best we've had so far and it's also the most quality. Whoeva sed that this camera was to be avoided is wrong becoz 1.If you think it's rubbish go buy it from the shop and don't depend ur lyf on online shopping. 2. It has the best quality and lighting. 3. Ur confused lol =]

    Avoid
First time I've ever felt compelled to write a review on Amazon. This camera may look great but it simply takes terrible photos. The images are grainy and flat, very similar to my 5mp camera on my Sony Ericsson k850i. I upgraded from my p200 which I loved and the photos are 50x worse. Recommend you look at a Panasonic or Fuji camera which will give much better results.

Style over substance - avoid at all costs! Very poor image quality
This is by far the worst digital compact I have had the misfortune to use, avoid it at all costs if you want to be able to take good photos with a point-and-click digital compact!

I purchased this camera as a Christmas present for my girlfriend as it is small ("handbag friendly) and appears to possess some good features (image stabilisation, face detection etc) in addition to being 8.1MP.

To give Sony some credit, the camera does have a good solid feel and the LCD screen presented crisp images. However, it was only after my girlfriend uploaded the photos she had taken on Christmas day that I realised how poor the image quality actually is. All the pictures came out with a foggy haze over them. Each image also had a lot of "noise" and in low light conditions the pictures were appalling. Comparing the photos that had been taken by an Ixus 750 I realised how bad the images actually were. I use a 40D SLR as my main camera so know a bit about playing around with camera settings, and even when I changed the ISO and flash settings on this camera the pictures still came out far worse than the lower MP Ixus.

My suspicion is that to get the style (and price) of this camera right Sony have sacrificed the quality of the image sensors and compressors, leading to poor image reproduction. This is a real shame as it has the potential to be a nice little camera.

If you value the quality of your pictures look elsewhere (the Ixus range is great)

    Super fast shutter
Picture quality on this type of camera doesn't vary much between equivalent modeld of different brands - you get what you pay for.

Shutter speed (or rather shutter lag) differs greatly and this camera is very quick - about .18 seconds for a single shot. Compare this with the IXUS models which vary from 0.38 to 0.45. It doesn't sound like much but it's often the difference between capturing what your trying to photograph and missing it.

Menu etc. is OK - not totally intuitive but not that hard. Switching from stills to video is a bit fiddly. Touch screen works fine, even with my fat fingers.

Only complaint is the lense is in the top left corner and it;s very easy to poke your finger across the lense - but with the large screen you'll notice it straight away.
Worth 5 stars just for being fast.
